Equality and Diversity E-learning Training Essential to All Staff
E-Learning materials relating to general and specific responsibilities for university staff in relation to equal opportunities are available to all staff via the e-learning platform LearnUpon. The training has been developed specifically for Higher and Further Education, and is used in many Universities. The training will provide you with the necessary knowledge and understanding of a developing and important area of law, in relation to your role and responsibilities. Regrettably, we do live in litigious times and in the event of unjust complaints made against you, the fact that you have completed relevant training in this subject will assist in defending any claims.

Diversity in the Workplace - All staff should be aware of Equality and Diversity procedures at the University and are expected to complete training on Equality and Diversity. This training is provided via an e-learning format from LearnUpon.
Recruitment and Selection – This training must be undertaken by anyone who will be involved in the recruitment and selection of staff. It replaces the sessions previously conducted as part of the Staff Development programme. The course also provides an accessible route to update the existing knowledge of staff who have already been trained. Training is provided via an e-learning format from LearnUpon.
It remains the University’s policy that colleagues involved in recruitment and selection activities should refresh their understanding and knowledge every three years. If you haven’t completed the programme, or undertook it over three years ago, please ensure you complete or retake the programme prior to involvement with any recruitment panels.
Should you have any queries about the Recruitment and Selection process in the University please continue to contact Human Resources.
Unconscious Bias - This training must be undertaken by anyone who will be involved in the recruitment and selection of staff. It explains how we can overcome our unconscious bias to improve decision making and professional relationships, and to create more open, inclusive and effective organisations. This training is provided via an e-learning format from LearnUpon.
