Teaching and Learning Conference
Since 2007 the University has held an annual, one-day, Teaching and Learning Conference. Each year a theme is chosen to reflect developments in teaching and learning across our Institution and the wider HE environment. The event is an opportunity to share ongoing work and expertise, to network and to build links with colleagues from across disciplines. The conference is planned by the PVC Teaching and Learning and the Academic Leads for the conference, supported by an advisory group made up of colleagues from People and Organisational Development, CLS, Student Services and the Students’ Union and the Associate Deans and Directors of Teaching and Learning. If you would like to be involved in this year’s conference or want further information, please contact your School’s Associate Dean or Director of Teaching and Learning

Closing the Gap
For the first time this year, courses across the institution will be given access to analyses of their own data so that they can recognise patterns of achievement and develop targeted, ameliorative strategies.
The Teaching and Learning Conference, 2020, is your place to share these strategies, with the pragmatic and socially just aim of addressing systemic inequality through teaching and learning.
This year, our ethos is to break the traditional mould of offering a series of short presentations and instead to focus entirely on a programme of engaging, experiential workshops with critical discussions.
