What is the session about?

It provides an overview of what constitutes sexual harassment and other areas of sexual misconduct (e.g. rape, sexual assault, indecent exposure, revenge porn). We look at statistics, definitions, case studies and explore how universities could and should respond.

The session provides information for staff on sexual misconduct (including harassment) and how they can support students who disclose to them.

This session will help participants to ...

  • Know how to respond if a student discloses sexual harassment or other sexual misconduct to them
  • Understand what help and support is available to students who experience sexual harassment/misconduct
  • Get information on the reporting options for students
  • Better understand definitions of sexual misconduct
  • Know more about prevalence of sexual misconduct in the general population and university sector.
