An Introduction to the Interactive Tools in Brightspace

Who should attend?

Academic staff and/or Support staff with a Learning Technology role.

Participants must have built their basic module content and be familiar with the basic functionality of Brightspace.  It is a recommendation that the participants have completed the first 10 units of the Brightspace Bytes training module.

What is the session about?

To introduce participants to Brightspace Discussion Boards and Campus Pack Wikis and Blogs including the benefits they can afford staff and students. The session will allow learners to develop the hands-on skills needed to create and administer a Discussion Board, Wiki or Blog in Brightspace.

This session will help participants to ...

Following the session, participants will be able to:

  • state the benefits of Discussion Boards, Wikis and Blogs to staff and students
  • recognise teaching and learning opportunities which the tools may support
  • create one of the tools and deploy it to students within a Brightspace module
  • effectively upload content to the chosen tool and comment on student contributions
  • grade the contributions using Brightspace Grades tool.
