More than half of the student population at the University of Huddersfield commute daily to study with us. Some students face long and difficult journeys, with multiple transition points. From the moment they arrive at University in the morning, they work hard to make the most of their time on campus. To better support them while they are on campus and improve their experience, we convened a working group to investigate how being a commuter impacts on them, and what we can do to make life a bit easier for them.
This group includes representatives from the SU, Estates, Computing and Library Services, Student Services and academic staff, and work strands include managing transport, life on campus, timetabling, digital access and social spaces.
