Getting the reader “on board” the train

1. Grab the reader’s attention
   • Don’t ramble – get straight to the point – get them thinking about the destination
   • Find a striking first sentence that sets them on the journey.
   • Think of this section as an abstract, proving an overview and enthusing the reader.
2. Establish the importance of your topic.
   • Don’t go into too much detail at the start.
3. Outline the project
   • Put the structure in the head of the reader but don’t go into detail.
