Media Relations

The Media Relations Office works to maintain the University’s growing reputation through the generation of news content, in the form of written stories, video material and expert comment.  Staff are encouraged to contact the Media Relations Office with potential stories that could comprise any of the following:

  • Research initiatives including research which can demonstrate impact, national and global conferences on campus, significant funding and grants, collaboration with business and industry.
  • Corporate successes for both research or teaching, professional accreditations, national awards/prizes to staff and students.
  • Business-related enterprise and entrepreneurial achievements by staff and students.
  • External visitors to the campus.

The Media Relations Office disseminates stories to the media and is happy to facilitate the creation of links with the media for staff members and researchers.  The University is keen for its staff and researchers to provide expert comment to the media and staff are encouraged to contact the Media Relations Office if they would like to be a media commentator.  

The University is keen to welcome external guests to the campus, which in itself can result in an opportunity to promote the work of the institution.  Therefore, it is important that staff make the Media Relations Office aware of such visits.
