Photo gallery templates

The "Photo Gallery" template is used to establish a photo gallery. Think of this as an empty box - we need to build the box, before we can put the photos in. Please note that in order to create a photo gallery, the page style must be set to “inner no scroller” (see page style templates for an explanation of how to check/amend the page style). This "Photo Gallery" template only requires the name of the gallery to be added. The “Photo Gallery Item” template is then used to add each individual image. To clarify, a photo gallery will have one "Photo Gallery" template and several "Photo Gallery Item" templates (as many of these as there are images in the gallery).

To create a photo gallery holder, first select "Add Content" and select the "Photo Gallery" content template (to add the Photo Gallery within the desired section).

The next step is to give the Photo Gallery a name, before adding it to the section.

 Photo Gallery Info

Once you have created the photo gallery holder using the "Photo Gallery" Template, you can now add the images to the gallery. As mentioned above, the "Photo gallery item" template is used to add individual images to a photo gallery. Click "Add content" in the desired section and select "Photo Gallery Item".

The photo gallery item template requests a name, preview image (thumbnail – ideally should change on hover), big image and caption. Please note that where possible, portrait and landscape images should be kept a similar size throughout the gallery, for consistency. The number of "Photo Gallery Items" added to the section will account to the number of images included in the gallery. Please note that the images will need to have been added to the media library first. If you are not sure how to do this, see "Media Library".

Once these elements have been added, the Gallery should look similar to the following example:

Photo Gallery Example

The above example would have one "Photo Gallery" template, followed by 15 "Photo Gallery Item" templates (one for each image).
