Loughborough University, through the modern energy cooking services programme, with support from the Department for International Development and Innovate UK’s knowledge transfer network, invites applications for its call on modern energy cooking services – technology research innovation for international development.
This supports early-stage research projects in support of innovative ideas or concepts that facilitate a transition to modern energy cooking services in countries supported by DFID. The aim is to reduce barriers to innovation to advance technology in MECS and enable more sustainable and accessible cooking systems in the countries that need it most. There are four themes to this call:
- energy storage;
- grid and infrastructure adaptability;
- alternative fuels;
- delivery models related to business or finance, and gender, accessibility and inclusion in MECS.
Companies of all sizes, businesses, including SMEs, academia and other organisations from around the world may apply, but the project solutions must be focused in countries supported by DFID. Partnerships with all types of organisations are welcomed.
Grants are worth up to £30,000 each.
