Project Title: Advanced Machinery & Productivity Initiative (AMPI)
Focus: Next generation machinery, robotics & automation systems, including sub-systems. Can also include sensor-enabled legacy equipment upgrade.
Academic Lead: Prof Andrew Longstaff (Computing & Engineering)
Funding: 2 funding streams for collaborative R&D (only for businesses with a presence in W. Yorks or Greater Manchester):-
- I4M (Innovation for Machinery): Up to £50,000 in value (principally for time costs; up to 20% non-time cost allowance) & typically 5-6 month duration (can inc an element of desk-based work). Simple on-line registration process. Total funding pot £1.0m.
- Innovation Fund: Flexible but expected to be for projects of £0.25 - 1.00m in value (30% max to the Uni); two funding windows in 2023. Total funding pot approx £6.0m.
Programme Duration: Completion of all projects by end-August 2026.
