Who we are

We are a team of friendly Customer Support Assistants supported by a pool of Student Associates.  All our Student Associates are current students at the University and work for us around their academic commitments.  We’re really proud that we have a great mix of students from across all areas of the University. 

iPoint are part of the Customer Support Team which also includes University Reception and Switchboard, sharing knowledge in order to provide consistent service excellence to all customers. The Customer Support Team is part of the wider Customer Services team within Computing and Library Services.

How we support staff

We support various departments in the University, by offering first line reception services, in person, by email or over the phone, as well as specific events such as Graduation.

If you are running events on campus it’s great if you are able to let us know about them in advance via our email ipoint@hud.ac.uk  We find that even if we aren’t officially supporting an event we often get enquiries relating to them.  The more information you arm us with the better service your visitors will receive from us.

How we support students

Ultimately we’re here to help support students and enhance their experience whilst at the University. We offer a range of services to students, including:

  • Reception support for Wellbeing and Disability Services, Careers and Student Finance, including enquiries and booking appointments
  • Council Tax and Student Status Letters
  • Replacement Student ID cards
  • Support with applying for Hardship funds
  • Signposting to other services within the University, e.g. School Offices, Students Union etc.
