Who is this course aimed at?

Academic Staff

What is this course about?

This course is essential for academic staff working in Human and Health Sciences who aspire to become supervisors of postgraduate degrees and have not previously served in this capacity, either at Huddersfield or elsewhere. Those with prior experience as a Main Supervisor at Huddersfield, or experienced supervisors new to Huddersfield, should attend the Supervision Update course every three years.

This is part 2 of a 2-part programme and is School-based, tailored and conducted by colleagues within their respective Schools to address the specific contexts of PGRs in their disciplines. The course covers regulations, processes, and practicalities of managing supervision and supporting PGRs, offering ample opportunities for participant discussion and questions to the programme team. Attendance in both parts is mandatory for staff to be confirmed as eligible to supervise.
