Who is this course aimed at?
Academic Staff - We require all staff who have experience of acting as a Supervisor of Postgraduate Research Degrees at Huddersfield to complete this Supervision Update course, once every three years.
The course is also for experienced supervisors of Postgraduate Research Degrees who are new to the University. Please note, those who are new to PGR Supervision should undertake the Supervision Fundamentals course.

Course Description:
This course provides participants with an update on the role of PGR supervisor and relevant regulations at The University of Huddersfield. It focuses on recent changes to regulations and expectations, as well as areas of current concern identified through monitoring PGR processes. The course will also highlight key changes in support for PGRs and supervisors, including online resources, the researcher development programme, Academic English, VLE, Portal, PGR management systems and processes, and developments in the sector.
Learning Objectives:
Understand recent changes to regulations and expectations for PGR supervision at The University of Huddersfield.
Identify and address current concerns and challenges in PGR supervision based on recent monitoring data.
Utilize updated resources and support systems for PGRs and supervisors, including online tools and development programmes.
