What is this course about?


This session is part of the Research Funding series from RIKE and supports the development theme ‘your research practice’.

Each session will focus on a different aspect of research funding and colleagues are welcome to book for a specific session, or the full series of five.

The series will inform academic researchers about the various stages of the path to obtaining funding for their research and managing successful awards.

This session covers the first step in the process - what to do with the research idea or question.

It includes guidance on the first step to enabling your research, guidance on how to view your research idea or question within the wider sphere of national/international priorities, guidance on how to explore your research idea or question to uncover the details required to formulate a project, guidance on what is required in a research project synopsis and advice on who to contact for further questions.
