Who is this course aimed at?
Academic Staff - This course is essential for academic staff who are to become supervisors of postgraduate degrees and have not previously served in this capacity. (Those with prior experience as a Main Supervisor here at Huddersfield, or experienced supervisors new to Huddersfield, should attend: Supervision Training - For Experienced Supervisors of Postgraduate Research Degrees)
What is this course about?
The course covers the regulations, processes, and practicalities of managing supervision and supporting PGRs, offering ample opportunities for participant discussion and questions to the programme team.
This session is Part One of a two-part programme and is a centralised, live session via Teams delivered by the Graduate School. Part Two is School-based - tailored and conducted by colleagues within their respective Schools to address the specific contexts of PGRs in their disciplines (and is booked separately). Attendance on both parts is mandatory for staff to be confirmed as eligible to supervise.
PLEASE NOTE - if fewer than 10 people have signed up for the training, the event will not run.
