Managing Your Emails So They Don't Manage You

Who is this course aimed at?

All University Staff

What is this course about?

This short course will help you explore strategies to manage Outlook and ensure your use of email is effective. Please note: This is a discussion-based session, focusing on behaviour rather than IT skills. Become more productive by not being constantly distracted by your Inbox - how often you check it and how to manage your email alerts. We will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using email as a form of communication. You will learn how to manage your Inbox by organising filing systems, using favourites and establishing 'rules.' This course encourages a collaborative discussion on improving email practices for everyone.

Here is what you can expect by attending this course:
  • Develop effective organisational systems for your Inbox, including setting up rules and folders to streamline email management.
  • Evaluate the benefits and drawbacks of using email as a primary communication tool.
