What is this course about?
This series of 4 inter-linked sessions provides an introduction to making simple book structures whilst encouraging and supporting you to take a mindful approach to making books by hand. Mindfulness can be described as a process of paying attention, on purpose, to our present-moment experience, with kindness, self-compassion, understanding and curiosity.
In each session you’ll be guided through the process of creating simple book structures using mindfulness meditations and practices to anchor your awareness. We’ll also explore how these book forms can be used to support your own mindful practices between sessions.
Please note: You must be available to attend all four sessions and book each one individually below.
Details of any pre-course/programme requirements
No previous experience of making books or mindfulness meditation is required, but participants will need a basic level of manual dexterity required for measuring, scoring, cutting, folding, stitching and gluing.
Participants will be sent an intake form to complete and return before the sessions begin.
