This course is designed to help you effectively guide, support, and manage staff throughout their probation period. You will learn how to navigate each stage, from induction to sign-off, ensuring that all procedures are followed correctly. Additionally, the course will explore strategies for fostering a supportive and inclusive environment during probation. By the end, you'll be equipped with the tools to make the probationary process smooth and successful for everyone involved.

Managers of new staff and those who have been promoted should familiarise themselves with the probationary guidance procedures on the HR website: https://www.hud.ac.uk/media/policydocuments/Induction-And-Probation-Procedures.pdf.

Objectives
