What is this course about?
'AI in Action' is a series of four short, practical sessions on the different ways that staff at the University of Huddersfield can utilise Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Claude and Microsoft Bing Copilot as part of their day-to-day work, as well as the risks and guardrails individuals will need to keep in mind when using this technology, such as data privacy, bias and the potential for spreading misinformation.
Our fourth and final session in the series, 'AI in Action: Productivity 'Hacks', will focus on how professionals can use a range of GenAI-enabled tools, such as Microsoft Bing Copilot, Gamma, Canva and Poe to reduce the amount of time spent on everyday workplace tasks, from summarising meeting minutes to creating PowerPoint presentation templates. We'll also discuss some of the risks it is important to be aware of when considering whether to use GenAI tools to complete everyday work tasks, specifically focusing on the University's AI Principles (https://students.hud.ac.uk/studies/ai/principles/) and issues concerning data privacy.
The session is 30 minutes long and will involve a live demo of different GenAI tools and prompts, as well as the opportunity to ask questions to the presenter throughout.
