Internal Examiner for Research Degrees

Who is this course aimed at?

Academic Staff who have not previously undertaken internal examiner training, staff who have completed internal examiner training three or more years ago and staff who are new to our University. This is a mandatory course for any member of staff who might be nominated to act as an internal examiner for a research degree candidate at our University.

What is this course about?

This course will help participants learn about the duties and responsibilities of the internal examiner in the PhD examination. You will also explore how to handle irregularities or difficult situations should they arise.

Details of any pre-course/programme requirements

1) You are required to watch the Brightspace PowerPoint before attending. The link is found in the documents section below. If you experience any problems in accessing the slides, please contact it.support@hud.ac.uk.

2) You are required to attend the session within 6 months of watching the PowerPoint.
