This mandatory course is designed for academic staff who may be nominated to act as internal examiners for research degree candidates at our University. It is particularly aimed at staff who have not previously undertaken internal examiner training, those who completed their training over three years ago, and new staff members.
Participants will learn about the duties and responsibilities of an internal examiner in the PhD examination process. The course will also cover how to handle irregularities and difficult situations that may arise during examinations. By the end of the course, staff will be better equipped to fulfil their roles effectively.
