What is this course about?

These sessions provide you with an hour of dedicated time to progress a writing project or goal within a supportive environment. Bring along your writing tools (laptop or pen and paper!) and some writing you’re doing at the moment and see what you can achieve whilst working alongside others. Your writing could be a research paper, book chapter, funding application or any other writing project you’re working on.
Please note: these Writing Hours do not provide any specific writing guidance; they are offered to encourage you to be proactive about writing and protect some time for this as part of your working day.

We’ll be running four Writing Hours during November 2024 (to support Academic Writing Month) and any Huddersfield researcher is welcome to attend a session, or more than one.

Objectives

Here is what you can expect by attending this course:
  • Connect with others to support the writing of your goal or project.
  • Identify effective tools to support the completion of the project or goal.
  • spend time progressing a writing project or goal
