What is this course about?
This one day course introduces new lecturers to the basics of teaching and learning. It is particularly for those with no previous experience of University teaching who may have recently joined the University or have recently moved into a lecturing role.The session will cover:
• Lesson plans, setting objectives, recap and evaluation (reflective practice);
• Schemes of work, module specifications and learning outcomes;
• Large group teaching and behaviour management;
• Small group teaching and seminars;
• Inclusion and diversity in HE;
• Assessing learning – formative and summative assessments.
