Leading with Compassion
This half day Leading with Compassion course offers an accessible introduction to the principles and practices of compassionate leadership. Participants will explore what compassionate leadership is, why it matters in today's university context and how it can strengthen connection, belonging and engagement across teams. Drawing on well-established research and evidence-based frameworks, the session offers practical tools for embedding compassion into everyday roles, routines, relationships and organisational culture. By the end, participants will have greater self-awareness and clear, actionable approaches for leading with and for compassion in their times and wider university community.
Objectives
- Develop a foundational understanding of compassionate leadership, including what it is and why it matters in the university context.
- Identify practical, evidence-based behaviours and small everyday actions that can help embed compassion into team interactions and workplace routines.
- Reflect on personal leadership habits and intentions, and pinpoint one or two actionable steps to begin leading with and for compassion in your own area of work.
