Research Funding Ready A): Aligning your research ideas and the funding landscape

Early-mid career researchers who are starting their external funding journeys, or experienced researchers who want a refresher on funding processes and strategies.
What is this course about?
This session is part of the ‘Research Funding Ready’ series and will provide practical information and strategies to help you develop a research idea or question and align it with potential funding sources.The session will include tailored interactive activities and resources to help you feel more confident in identifying funding and starting the application process.
In the final 30 minutes, we’ll hold a clinic which gives you an optional opportunity to work on a one-to-one basis with a Research Development Manager to explore different routes to funding for your specific research ideas.

Objectives
Here is what you can expect by attending this course:
- Identify the right funders for your research area, and understand how their priorities can mould your proposals.
- Learn how to draw out research ideas and questions from your interests, University and school focus, funders’ priorities, and challenge-based thinking
- Understand how you can expand your scope for research funding by developing international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral research teams.
