What is this course about?
Have you ever witnessed harassment and wanted to do something, but didn’t know what? This 1 hour session will provide some practical options that everyone can use if we see harassment in or outside our workplace. Everyone has a role to play in making public spaces feel safer, be an ally and support those targeted.
About the facilitator:
Julie Tweedale is the Founder, Director and Training and Development Manager at Freedom Personal Safety:
“I know the impact violence and abuse has on individuals, and I am determined to do all I can to prevent it. I trained in the USA as a personal safety instructor and I'm on a mission to share what I have learnt with people in communities, workplaces and education.
I create programmes which explore issues such as the impact of gender inequality, raising awareness of sexual harassment, healthy relationships, impact of pornography and rape culture – working with men and women, girls and boys to bring about the changes needed to ensure we are all safe.” - Julie
Pre-course Requirements:
There are no formal prerequisites to taking ‘Dealing with Harassment’, but participants should have an interest in learning strategies on how to deal with harassment, gaining the confidence to challenge harassment, and supporting individuals who are targeted in and outside of the workplace.
