EDI for Researchers

Who is this course aimed at?

Academic Staff
Researcher Only Staff
Aimed at ECRs, but open to any researcher looking for support with integrating EDI considerations into their work.

What is this course about?

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) considerations are integral to conducting rigorous, relevant and impactful research. Researchers are increasingly expected to articulate these considerations within funding applications, though many find it challenging to do so with confidence and specificity. This workshop supports our researchers to identify where EDI considerations are relevant within their own work, understand how these considerations can enhance research practice, and articulate them clearly and credibly within funding applications.

Objectives

Here is what you can expect by attending this course:
  • Consider what funders are really asking for in EDI sections and the common pitfalls.
  • Embed EDI meaningfully across a research proposal rather than confining it to a single section.
  • Identify key EDI considerations at the research design stage (e.g. participants, data, methods, teams and outputs).
