The Permitted Paid Engagement (PPE) visa route is for individuals invited by the University of Huddersfield to come to the UK for up to 1 month to undertake pre-arranged paid engagements, based on their area of expertise or skills.

Only the following groups are eligible to visit the University under the PPE visitor route and details of permitted activities are included in each section:

  • Lecturers
  • Academic Examiners or Assessors

All arrangements must be made before applicants travel to the UK

Please note:

  • Applications for PPE visas are made directly by the applicant. They do not require sponsorship from the University.
  • Applications cannot be made inside the UK.
  • Visa nationals must seek entry clearance (by obtaining a visa).
  • Non visa nationals do not need to apply for a visa in advance but must seek leave to enter at any UK port from an Immigration Officer.
  • PPE Visitors are not University employees and will not be paid through the University Payroll therefore, payment should be made via an alternative method.

Please contact Sean Morland, Payroll Team Leader (email:  s.p.morland@hud.ac.uk, telephone: 01484 256635) for assistance in confirming the appropriate method of payment.

Please refer to the boxes below for further information on each group.
