Introducing the MSc Strategic Leadership

We are excited to announce a professional development opportunity designed to enhance strategic management and leadership capabilities: the MSc Strategic Leadership. This programme aligns with our commitment to embedding outstanding management and leadership practices across our University, supporting the continuous professional development (CPD) of our Chartered Manager community.

Jointly developed and delivered by HR People and Organisational Development (P&OD) and the School of Business, Education and Law, this MSc is tailored to help Chartered Managers build on their expertise and drive meaningful impact within our University.

J-Induction

Programme Overview

  • Duration: Approx. 12 months, comprising two modules.
  • Modules:
    • Module 1: Internal Consultancy Skills: Develop essential consulting capabilities.
    • Module 2: Work-Based Consultancy Project: Apply learning to address a specific need within the University or individual Schools and Services, based your initial project proposal.
  • Mode of Study: Distance learning, supported by the People and Organisational Development team, Module Leaders and an Academic Mentor from the School of Business, Education and Law.
  • Next Start Date: September 2025.

Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a Chartered Manager.
  • Have successfully completed the in-house CMI Level 7 Certificate Strategic Leadership Programme.
  • Provide evidence of Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) and Accreditation of Certificated Learning (APCL). The APEL/APCL assessment will determine your individual pathway onto the MSc. If you do not meet the minimum credit requirement, you may complete a selection of non-assessed management and leadership-related modules through P&OD. Programme Fees

The MSc programme costs £3,700, payable directly to the School of Business, Education, and Law, unless you have successfully secured funding. Please note that the P&OD prerequisite modules are free for staff.
