Researcher Development is any activity (outside your usual job role) that contributes to your continued learning and growth as a researcher.
It is ongoing throughout your career, though development needs may vary with career stage.
Examples might include attending a training course or workshop, workplace shadowing, taking part in a mentoring scheme (as mentor or mentee), committee membership, or undertaking policy development, public engagement, or knowledge exchange activities.
Our RIKE Guide to RD time and activities provides further examples of development opportunities.
