De-mystifying the climate emergency and sustainable development

De-mystifying the climate emergency and sustainable development

My plan for the workshop is to do a brief introduction defining what the climate emergency is, why the dialogue has moved away from only calling it climate change, and to introduce the broader UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The participants will then be placed into cross-disciplinary groups of 4-6 (max 8) with someone placed to preside over the discussion. The task for each participant will be to identify a key aspect of their subject area that relates to the climate emergency and/or sustainable development. Examples may include sourcing of materials, modern slavery, embodied carbon, access to education, financial impacts of carbon emissions. Every module will have a link to the topic at hand and this is the opportunity to identify it.
In feeding back to the wider workshop the participants will be asked to propose how they may enable this.
