5 Ways to Wellbeing

When organising our calendar of events, the Staff Wellbeing Team always take into consideration the '5 Ways to Wellbeing'. The '5 Ways to Wellbeing' is based on in depth research and developed the New Economics Foundation.  They are now widely recognised and shared by organisations such as the NHS and leading mental health charity MIND.

Have a think about your own personal circumstances. Is one or more of these areas missing from your life? If so, it might be worth considering adding it in. For example, if you are feeling low, but you never do any physical activity, why not try taking up some exercise and see if it makes a difference?

In addition to the principles above, Nic Marks, who was part of the team responsible for the development of the '5 Ways to Wellbeing', created his own guide in 2015 - the '5 Ways to Wellbeing' at work. They are:

  • Connect
  • Be Fair
  • Empower
  • Challenge
  • Inspire
